EDUCATION WEEK 2020 – LEARNING TOGETHER
Principal's Message G’day Parents, Grandparents & Carers, I hope you enjoy viewing our substitute to the normal celebration during Education Week. Disappointingly restrictions due to the pandemic have not allowed parents and other significant visitors to attend an Open Day. The school’s focus remains to be enhancing our students progress in literacy and numeracy. Learning does continue across all curriculum areas at Samuel Gilbert PS. These incorporate both innovative and traditional forms of delivery. We do have an abundance of performing arts and sporting opportunities for our students. The school has a very competent school executive for which we are grateful. The school also is in a very healthy position with the diligent teaching staff. An example of their ability has been shown this year with their adjustment to the face to face and learning from home models. All the time providing quality teaching and learning resources pertinent to the range of student abilities at Samuel Gilbert PS. We are extremely appreciative to our generous P&C volunteers and professional OOSH service as they add value to our school. The people you will see in the footage are not actors -they are our valued students. You will notice the unique features of our school, the people, learning spaces and playgrounds. Our students are very fortunate to attend such a wide-ranging school. Kind regards, Greg McLaren PRINCIPAL The students and staff have been busy making a collection of videos to showcase what has been happening at Samuel Gilbert in 2020. We hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed making them!
